To meet the growing global demands, English-classrooms at SSMCE have been redesigned to become situation-based and learner-oriented. To further accenture and enhance the performance level of our students, a language laboratory is functioning. The laboratory has a collection of learning materials which can cater to the needs of different levels of students. The software available in our lab can also help our students to prepare for competitive examinations.

Chemistry

• To strengthen the fundamentals of chemistry and then build an interface of theoretical concepts with their industrial/engineering applications.

Physics

The department of physics was established in the year 1998. The department of physics has been maintaining high academic standards. The department of physics offers courses for all the first year B.E/ B.Tech., students as per Anna University curriculum. The department of physics has a team of highly qualified and energetic faculty members who have academic and research experiences.

Mathematics

Mathematics has been studied at SSM College of Engineering throughout its history and the department has established a record of accomplishments in central areas of applied mathematics.
The Department of Mathematics is part of the Department of Science and Humanities at SSM Engineering College. It is committed to effectively impart the fine Mathematical knowledge to students of B.E., B.Tech., B.Sc., M.E., M.Tech. MBA and MCA., which serve as a base for their studies, and make them excel in their knowledge and life. It is also committed to help the students of SSM to realize the Mathematical, Logical and Scientific potential in them by invoking their ability to understand abstract concepts and express them in concise and precise language.
