LEO Club

In 1957, the Glenside Lions Club, Pennsyuivania, USA began the first Leo club with 35 students from Abington High School. Leo leaders use their self-confidence, intelligence and communication skills to make decisions, which bring their clubs success .It helps in building a strong club by participating in and leading meetings, committees and projects.
All Leos are asked to use their talents for the good of their community. They will gain and expand their skills by researching the needs of the community and club and developing ways to meet those needs.


Membership in a Leo club opens doors to opportunities, especially within Lions Clubs International.


LEO Club @ SSM

Leo club of SSM College of Engineering is the Student wing of Lions Club of Erode South started in the year 2008. It was inaugurated by Lion.A.S.Aravindharaj, MLFP, and District Governor.


Objectives


HAM Club

Amateur radio is a community of people that use radio transmitters and receivers to communicate with other Amateur radio operators. The things that amateur radio operators do with their radios are as diverse as the people themselves. Amateur radio operators are often called ham radio operators or simply "hams".
Amateur (HAM) Radio is both a Hobby activity and Service. It is an activity of Self Learning, Inter-Communication & Technical Investigation carried on the duly authorized persons (i.e. Amateur Radio Operators) for a personal aim and without pecuniary interest. There are over 30 lakhs people all over the world who pursue this activity in their free time, in India we have around 15000 amateur radio operators.
Amateur Radio Operators have to qualify in an examination conducted by Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of India and obtain license for operating / possessing a Radio Station.


HAM Club @ SSM

SSM College of Engineering the first engineering college having the amateur radio station license (VU2SYE).Every year we conduct Amateur station operator’s license examinations through the ministry of Information technology and communication. Every semester we conduct guest lectures, awareness programs and workshops for the benefit of the members.


Rotract Club

Rotary club is a world wide organization, spread over 167 countries having 12 lakhs Rotarians in 31 thousand clubs. First Rotary club was started in the year 1905. Founder of Rotary club is Paul Harris.


Rotract Club @ SSM

Rotract club is a part of rotary club formed in colleges for students of age group 18 to 30 yrs. Rotract clubs are either community or university based, and they’re sponsored by a local Rotary club. Rotract club spreads over 139 countries having 8 thousand clubs, among which our SSM college of Engineering Rotract Club is one. We feel proud that SSM is a part of the world services.
For your kind information Rotary club of Komarapalayam was started in the year 1996 by our Honorable Chairman “Rotarian Cavalier” Dr. M.S.MATHIVANAN, acting as a Charted President.


Y's Youth Club

A Y's Youth Club is part of the International Association of Y's Men's Clubs which is a worldwide fellowship of persons of all faiths working together in mutual respect and affection, based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and with a common loyalty to the Young Men's Christian Association, striving through active service to develop, encourage and provide leadership to build a better world for all people and officially recognised as a partner.
Y’s Youth Clubs are intended open to young people between 15 - 30 years of age and, in accordance with the Y's Youth Club formation Guidelines, the members of Y's Youth Clubs do not pay any dues (Regional, Area or International). The Club receives a charter certificate from Y's Men International but does not have voting rights in International elections and it is not included in the official membership statistics. Y’s Youth Clubs are intended to facilitate the transition of young people to Y's Men's Clubs.


The Objectives

To encourage youth to promote the high ideals of service of the YMCA and to involve themselves actively in service activities to the YMCA and community with YMI.

Yoga & Meditation Club

To each student practices yoga in day-to-day life, to improve their flexibility, balance, endurance and physical strength, Meditation helps to keep the mind sharp and clear, relieves stress and improves overall well being, which deals with mental relaxation and concentration among the students. Here, attention is focused on thoughts and breath. Being aware of breathing automatically controls the thought process and thus relaxes mind completely.

Health and Hygiene:

SSMCE conducting awareness program for health and Hygiene in every year, to enable the student to have good health both mentally and physically and practice of Personal hygiene to prevent the spread of diseases. SSMCE conduct awareness program for Hand washing for all first year students. Create a awareness of each students to keep surroundings hygienic and such as dispose properly, clean and use garbage cans.


Physical Fitness:

Physical fitness is most important for students to involve the sport activities. Physical fitness not only for medical purpose and also students prepared mentally for their quality of life. SSMCE create awareness of physical fitness program. Our fitness experts to give training and consistently advice to how their strengthen muscles. SSMCE gymnasium was installed well equip instruments in boys and girls hostel premises.


Music & Fine Arts

Fine arts & Music Club at SSM College of Engineering is a voluntary organization dedicated to the promotion of Indian Classical Music, Carnatic, RAP & creative skills especially among the student community endeavoring to encourage the appreciation of the traditional form of music among youth in general. For the past 12 years fine arts and Music Club has been bringing quality Indian Classical music to the campsites of SSM, as well as the general public.

Youth represent a substantial part of the membership of Red Cross for its humanitarian commitment. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through Red Cross youth programme.

Women development cell in SSM College of Engineering, celebrates international women’s day on March 8th every year, to promote the activities of women in and around the college campus, by bringing experts from outside.
