SSM Community Radio Station was founded by ‘Cavalier’ Dr. M.S.Mathivaanan under the vision of his father ‘Gnanathandhai’ S.S.M.Subramaniam. SSM Community Radio (90.8 MHz) has initiated its services from 13th February 2012 with the slogan ‘Enainthu Kelungal Enimaiyai Valungal’ covering 15-20 Km radius around the station. The SSMCR started its transmission of programmes for about 4 hours a day, this comprises of 2 hours fresh programming from 6 AM to 8 AM, and a repeat broadcast from 6.30 PM to 8.30 PM. The Station broadcast programs on 12 major subjects namely prayer, spiritual, health, motivation, agriculture, industrial growth, education, library, our region, cooking tips, beauty tips, and stories for children.

SSM Community Radio Station is located in the campus of SSM College of Engineering with the geographical position of transmitting antenna being 077E44429 and 11N2626 at the highest of 30 meters above ground level and operates with the transmitting antenna having 50 Watts R.F. power output and at the frequency of 90.8 MHz in FM band.

To serve the people and to bridge the information gaps of all the sections of the society in order to pave the way for the development of the country.

Mission

To provide education, spiritual, cultural and information support especially to the people living in and around Bhavani and Komarapalayam.

Objective

SSMCR has been established to serve the cause of the people in the coverage area. The Station broadcast programs on 12 major subjects namely prayer, spiritual, health, motivation, agriculture, industrial growth, education, library, our region, cooking tips, beauty tips, and stories for children.

At least 50 % of the programs will be from the local community members.
